Jersyville, April 2 – Mrs. Anna Spencer 64, wife of Frank Spencer died this morning at 3 o’clock after a paralytic stroke. A daughter of John and Martha Ludlow, Mrs. Spencer was born Feb 8, 1872 in Fountain County, Indiana. At the age of two she was taken by her parents to Cherokee County, Kansas where the family lived until she was 18. They then moved to Illinois and to Jersey County. In 1904 she was married to Perry Franklin Spencer who survives with five daughters, Mrs. Edman Hagen of Alton; Mrs. Harold Murray and Miss Virginia Spencer of Jerseyville, Mrs. Charles McDaniel of Fairmont, W Va and Mrs. Lucille Johnson of St. Louis; four grandchildren; two brothers, John Ludlow of Witchita, Kan and Jerry of Pittsburg, Kan and three sisters, Mrs. John Bush of Collinsville; Mrs. J. Hagler of Girard and Mrs. Fannie Gardner of Virden. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. at Jacoby Bros Chapel here. Burial will be in Valhalla Memorial Park cemetery. - kbz
