Newtown - Rumzie E. Spear, 67 for 20 years in the trucking business here, died unexpectedly at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in his home. A native of Cumberland, Ky, he first married Rachel Dooley. She died in 1919. His second marriage was to Agnes Clark in 1936. Mr. Spear came to Newtown 40 years ago from Cumberland. He was a member of an undenominational church organization here. Surviving with the widow are two sons, Ervin Spear of Brookston and Walter Spear of Newtown and a daughter, Mrs. Nellie Nelson of Hammond by his first marriage; five sons, Victor, James, Herman, Rumzie Earl and Paul and a daughter, Mary Margaret by his second marriage all at home; three sisters, Mrs. Bessie Garrett of Lafayette, Mrs. Mae Cooksey of Wingate and Mrs. Bedford Williams of Newtown and four brothers, Lonnie Spear of Lafayette and Ray, Joe and Robert Spear, all of Attica. - kbz
