Attica - Clarence A. Spear, 77 of 808 S. McDonald St, Attica died at 6:40 p.m. Monday in Community Hospital, Williamsport.  He had been seriouly ill three months. Born in Bowling Green, Ky, Nov 23, 1909 he lived most of his life in Attica and attended Attica area schools. He was married July 18, 1936 in Danville, Ill to Dorothy M. Jackson who survives. Mr. Spear had worked at Waymire Construction in Attica and formerly was a self-employed auto mechanic. He also had worked for Chevrolet-Oldsmobile in Attica and at Barker Motor Co. He was a volunteer fireman with Attica Fire Dept for about 10 years. Mr. Spear was a member of First United Methodist Church of Attica; Wabash Masonic Lodge 708; and Attica Chapter 125, Order of Eastern Star. Surviving with the widow are two sons, Don Spear of Crawfordsville; and Douglas Spear of Mount Carmel, Ill and a daughter, Mrs. David (Linda) Schuman of Denver, Colo.

Clarence Spear - Visitation at Maus Funeral Home, Attica 5-8 pm. Thursday with Masonic Memorial service at 8 p.m. Service in Maus Chapel, 2 p.m. Friday Rev Earl D. Owen officiating.  Nine grandchildren survive. Four brothers preceded in death. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Those desiring may contribute in memoriam to Fountain County Cancer society. - kbz
