SPARROW, Ilah - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Veedersburg – Mrs. Ilah Sparrow, 71, Frankfort died in the Clinton County Hospital Thursday November 27. She was born in Veedersburg the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Pierce Wertz.  She was married to Eugene Sparrow in 1920. They operated the Sparrow Flower Shop in Frankfort for many years. He died in 1967.  Survivors include a son, Robert, Frankfort; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Morehouse of Clinton, Mass and Mrs. Mary Morehouse of Muscle Shoals, Ala and five sisters, Misses Anna and Helen Wertz of Frankfort; Mrs. Nellie Miller of Rossville, Ind; Mrs. Gertrude Servals and Mrs. Lois Robbins of Altadena, Calif. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Reah Anderson and two brothers, Herschel and Harry Wertz.  Services were Sunday afternoon at Goodwin Funeral Home in Frankfort with burial in a Frankfort Cemetery. Attending from Veedersburg were Mrs. Bertha Myers, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Nixon and Cleo Anderson. – kbz
