SOWERS, Roy - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Roy Sowers, of Rockville, a retired farmer and for 30 years a school bus driver in the Wallace and Turkey Run area, died in Meadows Manor at Terre Haute, where he was a patient the last two months. He lived in the Wapelo community 34 year before moving to Rockville two years ago. Mr. Sowers was a member of Phanuel Lutheran Church at Wallace A son of Thomas and Sarah Myers Sowers, he was born Oct. 21, 1893 at Gila, Ill. Surviving are his wife; a son, Thomas Lesllie Sowers of Rockville: a brother, Bert Sowers of Wallace, and a niece. Mrs. Mary Ellen Sokarda of Reseda, Calif. A brother, Marney, and three other brothers in infancy preceded him in death. Funeral services were conducted at Tudor Funeral Home in Rockville, with Rev. John Servies the minister and burial in Wallace Lutheran Cemetery. – jlr
