SOWERS, Grover - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Bloomingdale -- Grover C. Sowers, 84, of Rt. 1, Bloomingdale, died at 10:45 p.. Saturday in Vermillion County Hospital at Clinton. Mr. Sowers was a retired farmer. Born November 10, 1892 at Litchfield, Kentucky, he was a son of Louis and Mary Ann Delp Sowers. Surviving are two sons, Dan of Bloomingdale and Roscoe of Newport; five daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Smedly of Bloomingdale, Mrs. Ruby Bowman of Veedersburg, Mrs. Gladys Miller of Bloomingdale, Mrs. Bessie Jewel of Kirman, Iowa; and Mrs. Leoma Lang of Tampa Florida; 34 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Services are scheduled at 2 pm. Tuesday in Barnes Mortuary at Rockville with the Rev. Theodore Simonton officiating. Burial will be in Cashatt Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
