Funeral services for Mrs. Grace P. SOWERS, age 78 of Danville, Ill sister of the Rev. C. R. Tallman of Covington Rt 2 who died Saturday morning April 14, wer eheld at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Pape Memorial Home in Danville. Tom Thurman officiated and burial wa sin Old Overton Cemetery. Mrs. Sowes had been hospitalized at Lakeview Memorial Hospital one day. She was born Sept 22, 1883 in Thorntown, the daughter of William Elmer and Margaret Elizabeth Mikesell Tallman. She was married to Clell Sowers. She had made her home in Danville since 1959 after 27 years in Indianapolis where she was head buyer for the millinery department of the JC Penney Co. She was a member of the Christian Union Church, south of Covington on the old Indiana 63. Mrs. Sowers is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Kleinert of Indianapolis; one sister, Mrs. Lulu Moreland of Corpus Christi, TX; one brother, the Rev Tallman and two grandchildren.
