SOWERS, George V. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Cates --George Sowers, well-known resident of this community died last night at the home of his nephew, Homer Pearson, one half mile West of here.  Death followed a lingering illness.  Mr. Sowers was 66 years old and was born on a farm near Wallace, March 18, 1871 the son of Emsley and Eleanor Sowers. He was united in marriage with Katherine Thomas in 1902, the wife passing away a year ago.  Survivors are: two sisters, Viola Pearson of Yeddo and Mary Pearson of Danville, Ill; one brother and several other relatives. Funeral services will be held at the Freedom church near Wallace Saturday afternoon and burial will be made at the Zackmire cemetery near Wallace.
