SOWERS, Edith R

Miss Edith R. Sowers, 49, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Sowers of Brook, died Friday of a heart ailment in Iroquois hospital, Watseka, Ill. She was a registered nurse and had been on the staff of the Iroquois hospital for 14 years.  Born in Parke County, she moved to Morocco with her parents as a child. She graduated from Kentland HS and from Home Hospital School of Nursing, Lafayette in 1930.  She was a member of the Brook EUB Church and Goodland Pythian Sisters Lodge. Surviving besides her parents are three sisters: Mrs. May Goodman, Watseka, Ill; Mrs. Tressa McCarty, Kentland; Mrs. Maude Elijah of Brook; and a brother, Paul of Sheldon, Ill.  Funeral services were held at the EUB Church on Sunday afternoon.  Rev. Rollins officiating and burial was made in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Note: She lived briefly in Fountain County where a brother and sister were born and on the border of Parke/Fountain until they moved to Morocco.  Also believe she is the female born to them October 31, 1905 thus she would not have been born in Parke but Fountain
