Covington– Vera M. Songer, 91, of Covington, died at 4:56 p.m. Sunday in Community Hospital at Williamsport. She was a life resident of Fountain County and had lived at Covington since 1940. She was a member of the first United Methodist Church and Fulton Banta Post 291 American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Songer was born Feb. 8, 1898, in Shawnee Township, to Oscar and Julia Keeling Quigle. She was first married to Earl Shere who is deceased. She then married Le Roy Songer on Sept. 22, 1922. He died Dec. 9, 1982. Surviving are a granddaughter, Mrs. Jimmy (Sharon) Harris of Satellite Beach, Fla., a son-in-law, Ned Walter of Merritt Island, Fla., a sister, Verna Reynolds of Plymouth, Ind.; six great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. A daughter, brother and sister are deceased. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday in Shelby Funeral Home, with Paul Kent officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 4-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Covington—Vera M. Songer, 91, Covington, died at 4:55 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 1989 in Community Hospital, Williamsport.
  She was born Feb. 8, 1898 in Shawnee Township, the daughter of Oscar and Julia Keeling Quigle. She was married to Earl Shere, who preceded her in death. She was married Sept. 22, 1922 to LeRoy Songer, who preceded her in death Dec. 9, 1982.
  She was a life resident of Fountain County and had been a resident of Covington since 1940.

  She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Fulton Banta Post 291 American Legion Auxiliary.

  Surviving are a granddaughter, Mrs. Jimmy (Sharon) Harris, Satellite Beach, Fla.; a son-in-law, Ned KI. Walter, Merritt Island, Fla.; a sister, Verna Reynolds, Plymouth, Ind.; six great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
