VEEDERSBURG– Mrs. Mary Jena Songer, 42, died at 2 p.m. Saturday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She had been there 10 days after being in ill health four years. She was born in Franklin March 31, 1922, to Jewett and Blanche White Brisco. She was graduated from Franklin High School and attended Franklin College. She married Leroy Songer of Veedersburg Feb. 7, 1942. Mrs. Songer was a member of the First EUB Church of Veedersburg and Pi Beta Phi social sorority at Franklin. Mrs. Songer is survived by her husband; a daughter, Nancy, 10, and a son, Michael, 9, both at home; her mother and a sister, Mrs. Patricia Williams of Franklin. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Methodist Church in Veedersburg. Reverends August Stork and James Dyson will officiate. Burial will be in Bonebrake Cemetery south of Veedersburg. Mrs. Mary Jena Songer, 42, Veedersburg, died Saturday afternoon Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis after an extended illness.
Mrs. Songer , who had been ine the Indianapolis hospital the past 10 days, was born March 31 1922, in Franklin, Indiana, to Jewett and Blanch nee White Brisco. She graduated from Franklin High School and attended Franklin College.
She was married to Leroy Songer Feb. 7, 1942. He survives with two children, Nancy 10 and Michael 9.
Mrs. Songer was a member of the First E.U.B. Church at Veedersburg.
She is also survived by her mother and one sister, Mrs. Patricia Williams, both of Franklin.
Parham Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p. m. at the Methodist Church. Rev. Stork and Dyson officiated.
Burial was in Bonebrake Cemetery.
