SOLOMON, Charles Marion

Charles Marion Solomon Jr., 63, Route 1, Kingman, (Lake-Hidaway), died at the V.A. Medical Center, Danville, Ill., Friday, Feb. 8, at 2:30 a.m. shortly after arrival.   He was born at Williamsport, Aug. 23, 1921, the son of Charles M. and Ruby Estella Jones Solomon Sr.  He spent most of his life in Route 1, Attica, had lived in Kramer for about 18 years, and had been a resident of Kingman for the past five years. He was married Dec. 24, 1944 at Michelen, Belgium, to Maria (Mary) Catherina Casimir Rayhi, who survives.  He had attended Judyville School and had been a crane operator at Harrison Steel Castings Co., Attica, for 37 years, retiring in 1983.  He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.  He attended the Attica-Williamsport Presbyterian Church.  He was a life member of V.F.W. Post No. 3318, Attica and the Kingman Senior Citizens.  He enjoyed gardening and fishing as a hobby. Surviving besides the wife, are three daughters, Mrs. Ron (Mary) Rennick, Attica; Mrs. James (Vickie) Hillard, Victoria, Texas, and Mrs. Mike (Jody) Boyd, Warren, Ind.; four sons, Robert, Route 1, Kingman; Don, Attica; Paul, Williamsport, and David, Newtown; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Rorren, Rockaway, N.J., and MRs. Herschel (Mary Ellen) Benskin, Attica; two brothers, Robert Solomon, Titusville, Fla., and Bill Solomon, Oxford and 18 grandchildren.  Funeral services were held in the Maus Funeral Home Chapel, Attica, at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11 with the Rev. Kenneth Burris officiating.  Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica, with military graveside rites by the V.F.W. Post No. 3318 of Attica. Selections of “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace” were played.  The V.F.W. Post No. 3318 conducted military graveside services and acted as pallbearers. – thanks so much to the great typist, S

    Funeral Services for Charles Marion Solomon Jr., 63, Route 1, Kingman, who died at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Danville, Ill., Friday, Feb. 8, at 2:30 a.m., were held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, Monday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kenneth Burris officiating.  Members of the V.F.W. and American Legion who served as pallbearers were Donald Jenkins, Elvin Rater, Howard Rudolph, Frank Jones, Wayne Rich, and Harry King Jr.   Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica, with military graveside rites by the American Legion and V.F.W. Post of Attica. -s
