SOLLARS, Roy Thomas

Source: The obituary is from a collection of newspaper (paper names not recorded) obituaries saved, by Fauniel Hershberger, during the 1950's, 60's, 70's and 80's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at the Watson Funeral Home at Cayuga for Roy Thomas Sollars, age 69, a retired former resident of Kingman Rt. 2, who died Wednesday, Dec. 13, at his home following a two day illness. Born July 10, 1892, at Hoopeston, he was the son of Edward and Amanda Lloyd Sollars. He was married to Olline Mitchell, who preceded him in death. He was later married Feb. 7, 1961, to Blanche Tracy, who survives. Other survivors include his mother of Cayuga; four sons, Marvin of Chicago, L. M. of Kingman, Joseph of Tangier and Robert of Linton; four daughters, Mrs. Ruth Jackson of Indianapolis, Mrs. Mabel Linker and Mrs. Ann Songer, both of Veedersburg, and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Switzer of Dyer; a stepson, Russell Tracy of Marion; a step daughter, Mrs. Mary Margaret Comstock of Danville; a step brother, Omer Sollars of Edmond, Wash.; 16 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Dean Hartman. Burial was in the Thomas Cemetery.   --typed by Walt W
