SOLLARS, Charles - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Covington – Charles F. Sollars, age 49 of Georgetown, Ill father of Mrs. Marcia Sue Ferguson of Covington died at 5 p.m. Wednesday Feb 26 in Lake View Memorial Hospital, Danville, Ill where he had been a patient 90 minutes.  He was born March 20, 1919 in Georgetown, the son of Charles and Sammie Arthur Sollars. He was married to Martha Ingram Dec 7, 1942 in Clinton and she survives. He was a veteran of WWII and he was a member of Dornblazer Post 203 American Legion, First Church of Christ and of Russell Masonic Lodge 154.  He operated the Sollars Appliance Store. Surviving in addition to the wife are two sons, Charles Allen and Christopher Alan, both at home; Mrs. Ferguson of Covington; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Sykes of Georgetown and Mrs. Wallace Carpenter of Country Club Hills, Ill.  Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Houghton Funeral Home in Georgetown.  Orville Hubbartt officiated and burial was in the Georgetown cemetery. – kbz
