Attica—Ruth Emma Snyder, 95, formerly of 507 Canada St., Attica, died at 6:42 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1989 in Regency Place, Lafayette. She had been seriously ill the past three weeks and had resided at Regency since 1985.

  She was born Nov. 9, 1893 in Sullivan, the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Laura Bell Knotts Sinclair. She was married June 16, 1012 in Sullivan, to Floyd Snyder, who preceded her in death Feb. 19, 1968. They were married 56 years.

  She formerly lived in Mount Carmel, Ill., and spent 50 years in Attica before moving to Lafayette in 1985. She attended school in Sullivan.

  She and her husband owned and operated Snyder Notion Co. in Attica from 1929 until their retirement in 1953.

  She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Attica, Women’s Missionary Society of the church and Home Industrial Club.

  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Sara J.) Bowman, Lafayette; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Marsh and Patricia Lefton, and a twin sister, Mrs. Ruby J. Lund.

  Friends may call at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, from 9 a.m. today (Friday) until time of service at 10 a.m. Pastor Edward Bennett will officiate and burial will be in Center Ridge Cemetery, Sullivan, with Pastor John S. Lytle giving the committal service. -s
