Alice Stambaugh Snyder, daughter of Jonathan and Arminda Stambaugh, was born on a farm near Veedersburg, April 24, 1865, where her early life was spent. she attended the public school at Van Buren Township and Veedersburg. (seems incomplete but the date of November 1949 is on the bottom of the copied obituary so must be it.)

Mrs. Alice Snyder, life-long resident of Veedersburg, died at her home early Sunday morning following a period of failing health.  Mrs. Snyder was born a mile west of Veedersburg on April 24, 1865, the daughter of Jonathan and Armenda Butts Stembaugh.  She was married to Czar T. Snyder, who preceded her in death 20 years ago. Surviving are a son, Vance Snyder, trustee of Van Buren Township, of Veedersburg;and a daughter, Mrs. Goldie Warren of Winter Haven, Florida, a grandchild and one great grandchild.  Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Veedersburg Methodist Church of which she was a member with Rev. George Cartwright of Bement, Ill officiating.  Burial in Rockfield cemetery with Fishero Funeral Home in charge.   --- transcribed by kbz - thanks to Betty D.
