SNYDER, Albert Edwin

Albert E. Snyder, 73, father of Troy Snyder of Hillsboro
died at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville early Friday morning after having
been a patient for a week. He was a well known resident of
Crawfordsville. Mr. Snyder was born near Allentown, PA December 28, 1872 and
came to Indiana with his parents when four years of age and settled on a
farm in Clinton County near the village of Pettit, northwest of Frankfort.
He graduated
from Mulberry School and attended Valparaiso University. He
taught school in Clinton County 15 years, most of the time in
Mulberry. He was married to Edna Mae Peter of Mulberry in 1897 and they
resided in
Mulberry until 1913 when they moved to Crawfordsville.
He was superintendent of agencies for the Central States Life
Insurance Company for a number of years, having retired four years ago.
He was a member
of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church of
Crawfordsville. The widow and three children survive: Glen E. Snyder, Charleston Ill;
Mrs. Verna Newhouser, wife of Capt. Lloyd Newhouser of Bethleham, Md
and Troy A.
Snyder of Hillsboro. Five grandchildren also survive;
William A. Snyder and Mrs. Helen E. Rennels, both of Charleston, Ill; Charles
Donald and Nelson Lloyd Newhouser of Bethesda and Jean Alice Snyder of
Mulberry,
together with two sisters, Mrs. Cora Rothenberger of Dayton,
Ohio and Mrs. Ada Blickenstaff of St. Paul, Minn and one brother,
Samuel Snyder of Pettit. Funeral service was held at the Wabash
Avenue Presbyterian
Church at 2:30 Monday afternoon with Dr. RG Rismann, pastor
of the church in charge. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery at
Crawfordsville.
Note: His Death Record (Indiana #25071) adds the following
information that he lived at at 311 S. Water and had been in the
Crawfordsville Community 33 years. He died Aug 30, 1946 at 12:30 a.m.
