SNODGRASS, Dora Iza Miller

Newtown's oldest resident, Mrs. Dora Iza Snodgrss, 93, died
at 4 p.m. Sunday (29 Mayy 9) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Marie
Hunt of Hammond, where she had been visiting. She suffered a stroke
about six
weeks ago that was the cause of her death. Clair
Crumley, Hillsboro undertaker, returned the body to the Snodgrass residence in
Newtown where it remained until the funeral service which was held
from the
Newtown Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon. The Rev.
Roll Morris, Pine Village, was in charge and burial in the Newtown
Cemetery.
Mrs. Snodgrass ws born October 10, 1855, west of Newtown
(Rob Roy), the daughter of Eliaphet and Margaret Ross Miller. She was
married to Greenberry Snodgrass AUg 30, 1887. All of her life was spent
in the
vicinity of Newtown. She was a member of the Methodist
Church and Order of Eastern Star of Newtown. Survivors are two daughters,
Mrs. Hunt, of Hammond, at whose home she died, and Mrs. Floyd Bell,
Newtown; a son, Miller Snodgrass, Newtown; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Gertie
Sipes, Jerome, Idaho, 8 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. --- kbz
