Funeral services for James Elmer Snoddy, age 73, of Perrysville, were held at 2 p. m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Perrysville Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Burns officiating. Burial was in Hicks Cemetery with the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in charge. Mr. Snoddy, who was a carpenter and painter, died unexpectedly at 1:45 p. m. Thursday, Oct. 20, while working on a tenant house at the Cossey farm near Gessie. Born April 17, 1887, in Fulton Township, he had lived in this community all his life. He was a son of William Irwin and Eliza Jane Johnson Snoddy. He was married in 1908 to Ethel Ray Nicholas, who preceded him in death in 1923. He was married in 1930 to Edna May Haworth, who survives. Mr. Snoddy was a member of the Perrysville Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Leah Rae Goff of Perrysville; a son, James Ernest Snoddy of Danville, Ill.; two brothers, Walter Scott Snoddy of Danville and Raymond L. Snoddy of Perrysville; two sisters, Mrs. Maude Jester of Perrysville and Mrs. Ruby Richardson of Covington Rt. 2, and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were: George Rentz, Russell Crowder, Russell Drummond, Roy Hunt, Arthur Sheridan an Claude Hodges.   --typed by Walt W
