Danville, Ill.—Matthew J. Sneyd, 61, Danville, died at 1:50 a.m. Friday, April 21, 1989 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 29, 1927 in Westville, Ill., the son of Fred T. and Anna Johnson Sneyd. He was married Dec. 17, 1949 in Danville to Barbara LaMar, who survives.
He worked as a printer at the Commercial News in Danville. He was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church, the Kickapoo Karvers and he was also very active with the Boy Scouts in Piankeshaw Council. Woodcarving was his hobby.
Surviving besides his wife are a son, Matthew Robert, Springfield, Ill.; a daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Lou Ann) Magner, Williamsport; a sister, Mrs. Glenn (Myra) Jones, Westville, and three grandchildren, Megan Sneyd and Ashley and Ryan Magner. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Funeral Home with the Revs. C. Don Ferrill and Nicholas Showalter officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park. -s
