STONECIPHER, James Clem

Death came to James Clem Stonecipher, 65, at 4 o'clock Sunday morning at Carle Clinic in Urbana, Ill following a short illness.

Mr. Stonecipher was born in Harrison County, Indiana on July 30, 1878, son of Andrew and Katherine Smith Stonecipher.  He moved to Fountain County 28 years ago and has lived 14 years on a farm east of Covington.  He was married to Marcia E. Toler on July 30, 1905.  She preceded him in death on May 13, 1942.

Surviving are 3 daughters: Mrs. Paul Jackson and Mrs. Gould Clough of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Kenneth Houghland of Covington; three sons: Harry, William and Robert, all of Covington; 10 grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Jacob Hannel of Corydon, Indiana.

Funeral services were held at 2 Wednesday afternoon at the Salem Methodist Church with the Rev, George Beatty of Terre Haute, officiating.  Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery.   --- transcribed by kbz
