William Ambrose Stine, age 72, retired farmer and life resident of Fountain County, died at 9:10 a. m. Wednesday, July 4, at Lakeview Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient one day. Mr. Stine was born Jan. 7, 1890, in Parke County, a son of Charles and Nora Agnes Stine. He was married in February 1911 to Rosa Richardson, who died on Jan. 17, 1943. He was later married on Jan. 12, 1946 to Marguerite Wever, who survives. Mr. Stine had been a resident of the West Liberty community for 36 years. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Bodine, of Covington Rt. 3, and Mrs. Marjorie Clark of Danville Rt. 2; two sons, John of Kingman Rt. 2 and Scotty at home; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Darlene Ewing of Danville and Mrs. Ruth Ann Drummond of Covington Rt. 1; a brother, James of Silverwood; a sister, Miss Sarah Stine of Gary; seven grandchildren and three step-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by two sons and 10 brothers and sisters. Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Saturday, July 7, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiated. Burial was in the Coal Creek Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Vernon Snoddy, Joe Beckelhymer, Dewey Howard, Richard Crouse, Fred Cates and Arthur Clawson. --typed by Walt W
