Marion - Harry Temple Starnes, 88, died Thursday in the Veteran's Hospital at Marion. A former restident, he was a graduate of Hillsboro HS. Mr. Starnes was a farmer and Chautauqua lecturer. He served in the north during WWI and attended Normal College at Danville. He was born Nov 17, 1893, at Hillsboro son of Henry I. and Flora Temple Starnes. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Arlowein (Joan) French of Colfax; Mrs. Myron (Betsy) Fiedler of Cuba City, Wisconsin and Mrs. James (Lindy) Woolridge of Greenville, Miss; four sons, Wendell of Smartsburg; Malcolm (Mike) of Crawfordsville; Charles David of Yountsville and Tenny of Inverness, Fl; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Dwiggins of Goshen; 12 grandchildren and several greats. Private funeral services will be conducted. There will be no calling at Burkhart Funeral Home. Burial in Zachmire (sic) Cemetery.
