NEWTOWN, Ind. (CNS) — Thomas Erwin Spear, 58, of Brookston, Ind., a former resident of Newtown, was dead on arrival Tuesday (May 21, 1968) in the Home Hospital at Lafayette. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Born Sept. 19, 1909, in Bowling Green, Ky., he was a son of Rumzie and Rachael Dooley Spear. He had lived in Brookston since 1935 and operated the Spear Soil Service. He was married in 1930 to Lenore Kirts who preceded in death in 1939. He was married in 1940 to Margaret Sheehan who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Thomas Jr. of Elwood, Harold Lee of Phoenix, Ariz., Walter Joe of Brookston and John L. of Lafayette; a daughter, Wendy Sue at home; a brother, Walter of Crawfordsville, and a sister, Mrs. Nelle Nelson of Hammond. --typed by Walt
