Covington July 27 – Samuel Sowers age 50, superintendent of the Fountain County Farm, is dead of uremic poisoning superinduced by a carbuncle on the back of his head. His widow and three children survive. - kbz

Samuel H. Sowers, one of the well-known men of Fountain County, died at the home of his sister in Covington Sunday evening at 9:30 o’clock. He had been superintendent of the county poor farm for six years. Funeral services were held in Covington Tuesday and burial made in the Lutheran Cemetery at Wallace. - kbz
