Kingman -- Mrs. Samantha J. Norris, 79, died Sunday night at her home in Kingman following an illness of several weeks. Born Oct 4 1871 near Yeddo, Mrs. Norris was the daughter of Nathaniel and Deliah Redenbaugh Summers. She married Thomas Norris in April 1888. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Cox of Covington, Mrs. Laura Martin of Danville, Ill and Mrs. Ella Parent of Tangier; two sons, William and Peter Norris of Kingman; a sister Mrs. Lida Day of Yeddo; a brother John Summers of Veedersburg and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 11 o'clock CDT Wednesday morning at the family home Burial will be at Fraternal Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the residence.

Mrs. Samantha Jane Norris, 79 died at her home in Kingman at 9:00 p.m. Sunday May 20 after six weeks illness with a heart ailment. She had been in ill health for several months. Mrs. Norris was born Oct 4, 1860 near Yeddo, the daughter of Nathaniel and Delilah Summer Redenbaugh. She was married April 20, 1888 to Thomas Norris and they have resided in and near Kingman all their lives. Surviving are the husband, two sons, Peter and William of Kingman; three daughters, Mrs. Ella Parent of Tangier; Mrs. Ruth Cox of Covington and Mrs. Laura Martin of Danville, Ill. Samantha Summers Norris was born on a farm near the Centennial Church, Fountain County, Indiana Oct 4, 1871 and departed from this life at the family home in Kingman May 20th, 1951 at the age of 79 years 7 months and 16 days. She was the daughter of Nathaniel M. and Deliah Redenbaugh Summers and was one of a family of five children, two of whom survive, a sister, Mrs. Lydia E. Day of Yeddo and a brother, John M. Summers of Veedersburg. On April 20, 1888 she was married to Thomas Norris, a farmer near Kingman. Her entire life was lived within a few miles of her birthplace. To this union were born five children: Charles; Ella; Ruth; William and Laura. They, the husband, Thomas, 11 grandchildren, four great grand children, many nieces and nephews and a half of friends mourn her passing. Mant, as she was known and called by her family and intimate friends in her quiet, sympathetic manner was a friend of everyone who know her. Her entire life was devoted to her husband and family and in making a home for her children.
