To change and change is life, says an eminent author, and also is the transition from this life to the future almost constantly coming before us, and so is it illustrated at this present in the demise of the life of our neighbor and friend,
SARAH J. BOWSHER NORRIS, daughter of Jacob and Melissa Bowsher.  She was born December 16 1856; and died April 8 1908, leaving a record of 51 years 3 months and 22 days.  She was married to George S. Norris April 15 1875,  and in their separation he is left to say with the poet:
I long for household voices gone,
For vanished smiles I long,
But God has led my dear one on
And He can do no wrong.
One child, William H. was the pledge of their union. She was of a cheerful disposition, trying to scatter sunshine to those whom her life touched, and was loved for her good qualities of life.  Yet she was not content this and sought the author of real sunshine, which resulted in her conversion at a meeting held at Howard by Uncle Andrew Winset (as he was familiarly known) while yet a young woman.  For the past 3 years she has been affiliated with the Eastern Star lodge at Yeddo, and at the time of her death was Worthy Matron of the same. She was a loving wife, a devoted mother and her neighbors praise her, for her works of love and kindness amongst them.  Only one brother out of a family of five, survives her,  who with a sorrowing heart submits to the inevitable, as we all must do.   She would have preferred to have lived for those she loved but sickness came and took her from them, leaving a warning for those left behind to be prepared,  For has not the Master said,  “In such an hour as ye think not the son of man cometh.”
