ATTICA – Services were conducted at Dale Maus Funeral Chapel here today for Carl Noggle, 78, who was fatally stricken at his home Monday at 7 a.m. Noggle had owned and operated the Wabash Drive-in at Attica for many years prior to his retirement three years ago. He had lived in the area for 27 years and had been a self-employed plumber in the Hillsboro area. He was born in Judyville, Oct. 16, 1893, a son of Mont Vernon and Martha Oddinger Noggle. He married Sylvia Swearingen in 1915 at Ridge Farm, Ill. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter Mrs. Catherine Milligan of Lafayette. – jlr

Attica – Carl Noggle, 78, of Rt 4, Attica, died in his home on South River Road at 7 a.m. Monday apparently of a heart attack. A native of Judyville, he also lived in Hillsboro before moving to the Rt 4, Attica home 27 years ago. Mr. Noggle operated the Wabash Drive-in Theater at Rt 4, Attica until retiring three years ago. He had previously worked in the coal mines in Clinton and as a plumber in Hillsboro. A WWI Army veteran he was married in 1915 in Ridge Farm, Ill to Sylvia Swearingen who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Catherine Milligan of Lafayette. Friends may call 3-5 and 7-9 p.m Tuesday at Dale Maus Funeral Home, Attica. Service there 2 p.m. Wednesday the Rev. Everett White officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery Hillsboro. - kbz
