Verne F. Nicklas, 75, of 1152 W 350 N, Covington died Wednesday Feb 17, 1999 in Okeechobee, Fla. Born Nov 30, 1923 in Covington, he was the son of the late Otto John and Beulah Asbury Nicklas. His married to Donna L. Massey on July 30, 1952 in Covington; she survives. A life resident of Fountain, he graduated from Veedersburg HS. He was a member of Osborn Praire Church and Farm Bureau. Also surviving are 4 daughters, Nancy of Covington; Julie (tom) Himelick of Atlanta, GA; Sharon (Joe) Randolph of Orleans; Sandy (David) Ingram of Bismarck, Ill and brother Wayne (Mary) Nicklas of South Bend one sister, Marvellen (David) Dunwoody of Logansport; 3 grandchildren 2 stepgrandchildren. Visitation was Monday at Shelby FH. Service there on Monday with Richard-Byers, Sr. officiating. Interment in Osborn Prairie.   -- - thanks to Dellie & Mariah for this one
