Kingman, Indiana -- Grace Newnum, 86, a former Kingman resident died at about noon Saturday, March 23, 1985 at Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville, IN. She has been a resident of the Ben Hur Nursing Home in Crawfordsville for several years. Born in Jackson Township, Fountain County, Indiana on Nov 14, 1898 she was the daughter of Timothy and Abigail Wilkins Alwards. On Nov 26, 1919, she married Robert Newnum. He died April 16, 1966. She had attended Millcreek schools and was a member of Kingman Community Church, the Royal Neighbor Lodge of American and was a charter member of NGO Birthday Club. Survivors include a duaghter, Mildred Ratcliff of Kingman; 3 sons Bobby Gene Newnum of Ft. Wayne; Dr. Raymond Lavern Newnum of Evansville and Charles Newnum of Kingman; one sister, Mrs. Robert (Irene ) Delp of Marshall, Ind; 14 grandchildren, 20 greats and 5 great greats. She was preceded in death by two sisters, four brothers, one half sister, two half-brothers and two grandchildren. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 today at the Woodrow Funeral Home, Kingman. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Kingman Community Church with Rev. Glenn Ray officiating. The body will lie in state in the church for one hour before the start of services. Burial in Kingman Fraternal cemetery.
