Funeral services for Robert Newnum, 75, a retired rural mail carrier of Kingman, who died Saturday, April 16 were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Kingman EUB Church, Rev. Charles Lane, assisted by Rev. H.G. Kollmeyer officiated. Burial with Woodrow Funeral Home in charge was in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Mr. Newnu, who had been in failing health several years was born Feb 10 ,1891, in Kingman,, the son of Marcus and Mary Ann Massey Newnum. He was married Nov 26, 1919 to Grace Alwood, who survives. He retired in March 1959 after 35 years in the postal service. He was a veteran of WWI. He was a member of the Kingman EUB Church, National Rural Letter Carrier's Association, Veteran of WWI and Modern Woodmen of America. Surviving in addition to the wife, are one daughter, Mrs. Don (Mildred) Ratcliff of Remington; three sons, Robert E. of Ft. Wayne; Dr. Raymond L. Newnum of Evansville and Charles of Kingman; one sister, Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Pearson of Kingman; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister and two grandchildren.
