NEWNUM, Francis Marion

F. Marion Newnum, 80 a resident of Tangier Rt 1 for the past 23 years died at 1;15 a.m. today, April 19, 1967 at his home. Born Sept 2, 1886 in Fountain County, he was the son of Joseph and Annie Carr Newnum. He was married Nov 16, 1944 to Pauline Crabb, who survives. Mr. Newnum was a retired farmer and minister. He was a veteram of WWI. He was a member of the Felenzer American Legion Post & Prairie Creek Baptist Church. Other survivors include two sons, Russell and Fred, both of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Grace Johnson of Perrysville and Mrs. Fauniel Steffy of Veedersburg; a step son, William Stahl of Veedesrburg; Everett Oswalt of Blomingdale who was reared in their home; a brother, Claude of Bloomingdale Rt 1; 12 grandchildren and 14 greats. He was preceded in death by two sons, two sisters and a brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Tudor Funeral Home. The Rev. HH Howell and Lowell Barnard will officiate. Burial in Rush Creek Cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Friends will be received after noon Thursday. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by the America Legion.
