KINGMAN
Homer Milton Newcomb, 54, a resident of Kingman, died Friday evening after being stricken at the camping ground in Turkey Run State Park. He was taken in an ambulance to Culver Hospital in Crawfordsville and was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital. He was born Oct. 21, 1908 in Roland, Ky., and his parents were Nathan and Sally Moore Newcomb. On Oct. 26, 1929, he married Geraldine Brooks. Survivors include the widow; a son, George Harold Newcomb of Rt. 1 Kingman; a daughter, Mrs. Emmalee Rutledge of Kinman; a brother, George Newcomb of Great Britain, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth York of St. Berniece and Ms. Hattie Beard of Goodland. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Centennial EUB Church on U.S. 41 north of Kingman with Rev. Lawrence Beebe officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Robert Carey. The body will lie in state at the church after 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Friend’s Chapel in Scotland, Ill. The arrangements will be handled by the Davies-Tudor Funeral Home in Marshall.

Homer Milton Newcomb, 54, operator of the Midway service station at Yeddo for 12 years, died about 10 p.m. Friday, May 10, 1963.
Mr. Newcomb was stricken with a heart attack at Turkey Run State Park, where he had recently started work with the park service. He was pronounced dead at Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville.
Born Oct. 21, 1908, at Rowland, Ky., he was a son of Nathan and Sally Moore Newcomb who preceded him in death.
Survivors are, his wife, Geraldine Brooks, whom he married Oct. 26, 1929, a son, George of Kingman Route 1, a daughter, Mrs. Emmalee Rutledge of Kingman, a brother, George of England, and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth York of St. Berniece and Mrs. Hattie Beard of Goodland.
Mr. Newcomb was a member of the Yeddo Masonic Lodge 636, Eastern Star Lodge 313 and the Wallace Low Twelves.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Centennial EUB Church on U. S. 41 north of Kingman. The Rev. Lawrence Beebe of Lovington, Ill., officiated with the Rev. Robert Carey, pastor of the Centennial Church, assisting.
Burial was in the Friends Chapel Cemetery at Scottland, Ill. The Davies - Tudor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. - jz
