 Mrs. Alora O. Nelson, 76, Griffith, Indiana, died at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at Covington Manor Nursing Home.
  Born January 27, 1907 in Warren County, she was the daughter of Homer S. and Iva Zane Clem. She married James P. Nelson June 17, 1956, who survives.

  A graduate of Covington High School and Normal College in Danville, Indiana, she taught school for 42 years in Warren County, Fowler and Griffith.

  Other survivors include three nieces. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
  Services were conducted Friday at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Robert H. Miller officiating. Burial was in Fowler Cemetery.   – thanks to S

Covington – Retired school teacher Mrs. Alora O. Nelson, 76 of Griffith died at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday in Covington Manor Convalescent Center.  She had been seriously ill five months and a patient at the center three weeks.  She was born in Warren County and had lived in Covington and Fowler prior to moving to Griffith where she had lived 30 years.  A graduate of Covington HS and Normal College in Danville, Ind (sic – fairly sure Ill) she taught 42 years at Fowler, Griffith and Warren County.  Her marriage was in 1956 to James Nelson, who survives.  Mrs. Nelson was a member of Griffith United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
