Frank Neikirk, 64, well known Veedersburg man died suddenly Tuesday morning Nov 25 at The Indiana Condensed Milk Company in Veedersburg, suffering a heart attack after he had been at the plant for only a few minutesl Mr. Neikirk had checked in at 5 a.m. turned on the lights and had walked about ten steps. He was found at 5:10 by the night man at the plant who went in to see what was wrong after he heard Mr. Neikirk but wondered about his failure to come to the boiler room. Mr. Walter Hass, manager of the plant and Dr. Gilber Himebaugh were called at once and found that he had no pulse. The coroner Charles Fishero was then called and pronounced the death due to heart failure. Mr. Neikirk was born Dec 22,1882 at Forest City, Ill, son of John and Phoebe Reed Neikirk. He married April 11, 1908 to Georgia St Clair at Towner, Okla where he was the cashier of the First National Bank. Mr. and Mrs. Neikirk moved to Fountain County in 1913 to their farm near Hillsboro and in 1928 moved to Veedersburg where they have since resided. He was a graduate of the Peoria business college and attended Purdue University to study milk manufacturing and butter making. He became associated with the Indiana Condensed Milk Co 16 years ago is the butter making division. Besides Mrs. Neikirk he is survived by one son Robert of for East Orange NJ and a brother JO Neikirk of Santa Barbara Calif. He was a member of the Forrest City Methodist Church.
