Our citizens were shocked Friday shortly after noon by the announcement that Mrs. Rinda Nebeker had just passed away. In fact few people knew that she was even ill, although she had been confined to her bed since the previous Tuesday with pneumonia from which it was thought by members of the family that she was recovering. Death came from heart failure and so suddenly that members of the family had not time to reach her bedside. The funeral service, conducted by the Rev. George Moffett of Hillsboro were held from her late home on South Fifth Street at 2:30 Monday afternoon, interment following in the Bend Cemetery beside the remains of her late husband, Rheuben Nebeker who died in April 1914. Alma Rinda Walker Nebeker was the daughter of the late James and Adaline Ainsworth Walker of Chambersburg and was born in that place Dec 16, 1845 and died May 12, 1922 aged 76 years 5 months and 26 days, She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Hershberger of Veedersburg and three grandchildren, who were living with at her home attending school at the time of her death, also one sister, Mrs. Adella Hester of Indianapolis, together with many more distant cousins. Early in life, she was married to Fraley Montgomery and to this union a son who died in infancy was born, the husband dying soon after. Later she was united in marriage to Rheuben H. Nebeker and to this union one child, Ada now, Mrs. Hershberger was born, the family living on the farm north of this city until after Mr. Nebeker’s death in 1914 when they moved to this city in the spring of 1920. Mrs. Nebeker united with the Cold Springs Christian Church near Chambersburg early in life and on coming to Covington transferred her membership to that church here, ever remaining a faithful member. She was also a charter member of the Waterns? Club of this city and took a great interest both in her church and club work. She was a __ example of the Christian ___ devoted wife and mother and __ be greatly missed by those ___ to her and that knew her best. – kbz

Dr. Kennedy and wife, Dr. Eva Nebeker Kennedy of Camden drove over Monday to attend the funeral of their cousin, Mrs. Rinda Nebeker. They returned home after the services. Their many friends here were glad to greet them once more. They state that their father Lew now 80 is in good health.
