Nelson G. Nebeker, member of the famous Nebeker families of Fountain County, a resident of Danville for the past 5 years and lacking just three weeks of being 80 years of age, died at his home, 1218 North Franklin Street, the latter city at 10 o’clock Tuesday morning.  Although feeble through the weight of his years and a semi-invalid for the past 7 years, his death was hastened by a fall received at his home Monday of last week.  He attempted to arise from his invalid chair and fell forward, fracturing his hip.  Nelson Gilbert Nebeker was born in Covington, Ind Sept 20, 1842, the oldest of the 15 children born to the Rev. Lucas and Abagail Nebeker. He always resided in or near Covington until five years ago when he removed to Danville to make his home.  He was a veteran of the Civil War, going out from Covington with Co C of the famous 63rd Indiana Volunteer Infantry. 37 years ago he was united in marriage with Mrs. Emma Knapper, a widow with two children, both of whom have since passed away. One child was born of the last union, now Mrs. Leslie Small of Danville.   ---kbz
