Lafayette—Harvey Neal, 75, 1722 Congress St., Lafayette, died at 4 a.m. Saturday, April 1, 1989 in his home. He had been in failing health since December.
He was born Oct. 30, 1913 in Waynetown, and had lived in Linden before moving to Lafayette in 1950. He was married Jan. 27, 1945 in Bloomington to Marian L. VanNice, who survives.
He graduated from Linden High School and was an employee of Ross Gear Division of TRW in Lafayette, retiring in 1975.
He was a member of the union at Ross Gear and past commander of Linden American Legion. He served in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific prior to and during World War II.
Surviving besides his wife are five daughters, Karen Neal, Rowanne Neal and Jeanine Neal, all of Lafayette; Marina Neal, Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Leon (Michelle) Kenyon, Port Charlotte, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Ada Pitcock, Nelsonville, Ohio, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Private memorial service will be at a later date with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Darlington.
