Arthur Lee Nash of Covington, age 77, died unexpectedly Friday evening, June 4, at his home. He was born in Fountain County, November 3, 1904, the son of William and Minerva Moore Nash. September 7, 1926, he married Doris Orahood, who survives. Nash was a member of the Moose Lodge in Madison, Illinois. He had moved to Harvey, Illinois in 1942 and worked at Wyman Gordon until retiring in 1970. He then lived at Williford, Arkansas, until returning to Covington two weeks ago.
Also surviving are six daughters, Imogene Millsaps and Donna Rogers of Harvey, Illinois, Iona Gray of Arab, Alabama, Bonnie Merchant of Chicago Heights, Illinois, Ida Rabesloot of Lynnwood, Illinois, and Peggy Arterburn of Country Club Hills, Illinois; a son, George of Phoenix, Arizona; 25 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Alfred Dobbs officiating. Burial was in Cooper’s Chapel Cemetery. – thanks to S
