Winamac - Services for Iona E. Nale, 72, Rt. 1, Star City, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Frain Mortuary. She died at 6 a.m. Sunday in her residence. Born April 3, 1919, in Fountain County, she was the daughter of John and Pearl Redenbaugh Hershberger. On April 26, 1941, in Goshen, she was married to Russell Milton Nale, who died Sept. 1, 1989. She had lived in Star City for 35 years. She was a member of Star City United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star at Waynetown, DAR Metamanong chapter, Colonial Dames and Daughters of American Colonists. She served as vice president of Pulaski County Human Services Board of Directors, Area 1 Agency on Aging Advisory Council Legislative Committee, and was the Pulaski County representative to the Older Hoosiers Federation and Governor's Conference on Aging. She was a retired teacher from Winamac Community Schools and was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association and the Pulaski County Retired Teachers Association. She was a graduate of Central Normal College, Danville, and Indiana State University. Survivors include one daughter, Rita Horton, Jeffersonville; one son, John Milton Nale, Winamac; two sisters, Tryphosa Cox, Denver, Colo., and Retha Featherstone, Indianapolis; two brothers, John Hershberger, Indianapolis, and Eamer Hershberger, Yeddo; and four grandchildren. Three sisters and two brothers preceded in death. Pastor Herb Hiatt will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and after 8 a.m. Wednesday in the mortuary, where a DAR service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. Graveside services will be held prior to burial at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Centennial Cemetery, Yeddo.
