Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Silas Ezra McVey, age 81, a former resident of the Covington community, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, in the Ridgeview Hospital at Ypsilanti, Mich. He had been a patient there since Jan. 23 and had been seriously ill four months. Mr. McVey was born Oct. 17, 1883, in Kentucky, the son of Joseph and Margerene Hall McVey. He was married Jan. 29, 1908, to Iona Littleton, who preceded him in death on July 21, 1964. He had resided in Fithian, Ill., from 1918 to 1951 when he moved to the Covington area. He had farmed all of his life. He was a 50-year member of the Collison, Ill., Masonic Lodge 714. Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Lucy Bush of Belleville, Mich.; two sons, Woodrow of Oakwood and Joseph of Muncie; two half brothers, Emmit Littleton of Flemingburg, Ky., and Leonard Hamm of Connersville; five grandchildren and seven-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. August Stork officiated and burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, north of Danville, Ill. Pallbearers were: Lloyd McVey, Dean McVey, William Bush Jr., John Scheurich, Orville Kight and Harold Zeigler.  --typed by Walt W
