McNETT, Jasper

Jasper McNett, a well known farmer living northwest of this city, died at his home at 8 Wednesday night, Dec 31, 1919, following a long illness. He was 81 and had spent almost his entire life in this vicinity. His wife died 23 years ago but he continued to reside on the farm, the children keeping house for him. He is survived by the following children: Charles of Canada, Mark of Danville, Jesse of Attica, Frank who is still at home; Mrs. Rilla Johnson of near Kickapoo and Miss Bessie who is a stenographer in Danville. Floyd, another son, died about six years ago. There are also 7 grandchildren and the following brothers and sister: Elisha McNett of the Leavewnworth, Kansas Soldiers Home, Newton who also stays at the Leaveworth home, but who has been at the bedside of his brother throughout his last illness and one sister, Mrs. Tryphenia Moore of Williamsport. Funeral services were held from the home at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon by Rev. J.E. McCloud of Williamsport - interment in Highland cemetery beside his late wife.
