McMURTRIE, Donald T. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Donald T. McMurtrie of Attica, age 63, died Saturday morning in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette. He was born at Attica, June 13, 1919, the son of William T. and Lola Beckley McMurtrie. November 30, 1940, he married Iris M. Jones, who survives. A rural mail carrier and a carpenter, he had served with the Seabees during World War II and was a member of the Attica Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Eagles Lodge.

  Also surviving are two sons, Larry of Sarasota, Florida, and Kerry of Honolulu, Hawaii; a sister, Ariel Clawson of Attica; a brother, Rex of RR 2, Attica; and two grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at Maus Chapel in Attica with Rev. R. Larry Smith officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Attica. – thanks to S
