Tangier -- Eugene McMasters, 47, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday at his home on Rt. 1 where he had lived 23 years. Mr. McMasters was a school bus driver for Liberty Twp and Turkey Run Consolidated schools for 15 years. A native of Fountain County, he was born June 29, 1919 a son of Guy and Sylvia Newnum Mcmasters. He was married to Betty Cox 3-3-1942. Surviving are the widow; a son, Robert D. Yater of Tangier, his mother, who lives in Kingman, a sister, Mrs. Glenn (Eileen) Crowder of Rt 1, Bloomingdale a brother, Earl Verner McMasters of Rt 1, Hillsboro; 3 grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Davies-Tudor Funeral Home, in Marshall with Rev John Meyer and Rev.Ruth Isaacs officiating. Burial will be in Tangier cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today.

Eugene McMasters, age 47 of Tangier Rt 1, brother-in-law of Tom Cox of Covington died at 6 a.m. Tuesday April 18 at his home where he had lived 23 years. Mr. McMasters, a native of Fountain County was born June 29, 1919 the son of Guy and Sylvia Newnum McMasters.  He was married March 3, 1942 to Betty Cox, who survives. He was a school bus driver for Liberty Township in Parke County and Turkey Run Consolidated school for 15 years.  Surviving in addition to the wife are one son, Robert D. Yater of Tangier; his mother who lives in Kingman; one sister, Mrs. Glenn (Eileen) Crowder of Bloomingdale Rt 1,; one brother, Earl Verner McMasters of Hillsboro Rt 1; three grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Davies-Tudor Funeral Home in Marshall. The Rev. John Meyer and the Rev. Ruth Isaacs officiated. Burial was in the Tangier Cemetery.  - kbz
