"Frank McMahon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy McMahon died at the home of his parents in this city Monday morning at 9 o'clock, February 18. He was 30 years 3 months and 4 days old.
The immediate cause of death was apoplexy, and his sickness as of short duration. He suffered two paralytic strokes, but was conscious until his spirit was called by the One who gave it.
Frank was born and reared in this city and was well known by all our people. He was a member of the Catholic church, and was regarded by all who knew him as an honest, industrious and trusted young man, who attended strictly to his own business. He was ever ready and willing to do a kindness, was liberal to a fault and treated his fellow men and associates with such courtesy and kindness as to win their respect and esteem.
Deceased is survived by a father, mother, four brothers - John, Patrick, Jerry, and William and three sisters, Misses Maggie and Katie and Mrs. Thomas Ryan. His was the first death in the family, and it was a hard blow to the mother and father and the loving sisters and brothers when the family circle was broken.
The funeral sermon and last blessing was conducted at St. Joseph church, after which the remains, followed by a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends were taken to the cemetery for interment." –
