COVINGTON - Mrs. Olga Hedvig McLaughlin, age 75, of Danville, Ill., a former resident of Perrysville, died at 1:05 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville where she had been a patient 11 days.
She was born in Germany May 8, 1892, the daughter of Gustav and Marie Behnke Rohde. She was married first to Al Carter in 1917 and in 1925 to Charles McLaughlin, who preceded her in death May 12, 1944. She had resided in Danville since 1952 and prior to that in Perrysville.
Mrs. McLaughlin is survived by: four sons, Arthur R. Carter of Harvard, Ill., Robert R. Carter of South Hampton, Pa., Edward L. Carter of Danville, and Charles W. McLaughlin of West Lebanon Rt. 1; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Mary Hayman of Veedersburg Rt., and Mrs. Iola McClure of Veedersburg; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are: four brothers, William, Johannes, Alfred and Walter Rohde, all of Germany; three sisters, Miss Arm Rohde, Mrs. Ida Stahl and Mrs. Alfreda Bilderstedt, all of Germany. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville. The Rev. Lyle Mueller officiated. Burial, with the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home of Covington in charge of arrangements, was m Hopewell Cemetery. - jz
