McLAIN, Harlan

Harlan McLain, 76, Cayuga, died at 3:15 Thursday, September 29, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Illinois.
He moved to Cayuga from the Stringtown area in 1956. He worked as a farmer laborer for several years and then for Morgan Coal Company for 18 years. Until he retired in 1979, he was an employee of the Indiana State Highway Department and the Vermillion County Highway Department.
He was born July 11, 1907 in Fountain County, the son of Charles and Susie Wolfe McLain. On April 17, 1932, he married Eva Richardson, who survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Bruce A. Gee of RR 3, Covington, Mrs. Kevin Woodrow of RR 1, Covington, and Mrs. Bobby Barnes of Covington; two brothers, George and Henry, both of Cayuga; two sisters, Mrs. Harold Swim of RR 2, Covington, and Mrs. Anna Smith of Hillsboro; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services were conducted Sunday at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Paul Kent officiating. Burial was in Coal Creek Cemetery. – thanks to S
