COVINGTON, Ind.- Mrs. Eva Z. McLain, 64, of 201 Second, Covington, died at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday (April 8, 1969 ) at St. Elizabeth Hospital where she had been a patient two days. She had been seriously ill two weeks. Born July 26, 1904 in Michigan, she was the daughter of William and Rhoda Hagley Stambaugh. She was married Nov. 28, 1924 to Alta McLain, who survives. Also surviving are six children, Mrs. Barbara Ramey of Covington Route 3, Delmas at home, Glenn of Covington; Lowell Gene of Covington, Mrs. Shirley Meeker of Covington Route 3 and Jack at home; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Samuel of Westville; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Davis of Danville, Mrs. Minnie Lamb of Rural Veedersburg and Mrs. Betty Cox of Attica. She was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. McLain was a life resident of Covington and a member of the Grace Baptist Church. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. (EST) at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home with the Rev. John Beggs officiating. Burial will be in Coal Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday afternoon and evening.  -- jlr

held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here. The Rev. John Beggs officiated and burial was in Coal Creek
Cemetery.

Mrs. McLain was born July 26, 1904, in Michigan, the daughter of William and Rhoda Hagley Stambaugh.  She married Alta McLain on Nov. 28, 1924.
She is survived by her husband and six children, Mrs. Barbara Ramey, Covington; Delmas McLain and Jack McLain, both at home; Glenn McLain, Lowell Gene McLain and Mrs. Shirley Meeker, all of Covington; 12 grandchildren; one brother, Sam Stambaugh, Westville; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Davis, Danville; Mrs. Minnie Lamb, Veedersburg, and Mrs. Betty Cox, Attica.  She was preceded in death by two sons, her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
A life member of Covington, she was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
The body is at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home where funeral arrangements are incomplete.  - jz
