NEWTOWN—T. G. McKnight, 81, suffered a fatal heart attack about 10 p.m. Saturday while viewing television at his home here. Mr. McKnight, who was active in community affairs, had been a real estate dealer in this area the past 15 years. He farmed west of here for many years and owned and operated the Newtown Hardware Store from 1925 until 1952. He served as Richland Township Trustee from 1939 until 1947 and for several years was treasurer of Fountain County CROP. He was a member of the Union Christian Church here. He served as Trustee of the church for a number of years. Born March 23, 1881, north of Veedersburg, he was the son of Charles and Joanna Reed McKnight. He was twice married. He was first married Aug. 26, 1903 to Mabel Applegate, who died in 1957. His second marriage was to Edith Mellott McKnight, who survives. Other survivors include five daughters, Mrs. LaVera Hancock of Chico, Calif., Mrs. Anita Allen of near Wingate; Mrs. Zola Ingersoll of Hillsboro, Mrs. Bernice Haug of Lafayette and Mrs. Ruth Sentman of Oblong, Ill.; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Harold and Charles. The body was taken to the Crumley Funeral Home at Hillsboro where funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Don Cutts, pastor of the United Church of Christ of Mellott, will officiate. Burial will be in Union Christian Cemetery west of here. Freinds may pay their respects at the funeral home Monday afternoon and evening.  --typed by Walt W

Don Cutts officiated. Burial was in Union Christian Cemetery, west of Newtown. Mr. McKnight was born March 23, 1881, near Veedersburg, the son of Charles and JoAnna Reed McKnight.
