McKEY, Joy - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Joy McKey of Hillsboro, age 98, died Friday morning, August 19, in Golden Manor Nursing Home at Ladoga. She was born at Hillsboro, May 6, 1885, the daughter of Bent and Anzonetta Keller Miller. In June of 1912, she married Dr. Arthur McKey, who died in 1956. Mrs. McKey was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church and its Keystone Sunday School Class. After receiving teacher training at Madam Blaker’s in Indianapolis, she taught at Ellis School south of Hillsboro and in Hillsboro public schools. She was a 1903 graduate of Hillsboro High School.

Surviving is a nephew, Hallet M. Desmond of Racine, Wisconsin.

Memorial services were held Monday afternoon at Rose Hill Cemetery with Rev. Thomas P. Inabinett officiating. Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro was in charge of arrangements and the body was cremated. -s-
